Inkaterra Guides Field Station was originally designed as a research location in the Tambopata National Reserve but will now open its doors to eco-conscious travellers, families, researchers, volunteers and students from around the world. Luxury accommodation is fairly scant in the depths of the Amazon, so expect a truly rustic stay (with oodles of “sense of place”) at the four cabanas, equipped with private terraces and bathrooms.

The Field Station will house an Eco Centre, to educate guests on the various projects and excursions taking place, as well as a lab, and guests will also be able to participate in 10 wildlife-focused outings, ranging from the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway, suspended high above the forest floor, to boat trips and a visit to the Gamitana Model Farm, where ITA works with local communities.
