Desert-inspired dioramas, gigantic space murals and a kaleidoscopic globe; the 25hours Hotel One Central is no stranger to awe-inspiring artworks and September brings another artistic collaboration for aesthetes to cast their eyes upon.
Teaming up with World Art Dubai (WAD), the property will host American artist Alex Lanier as part of the Artist in Hotel Residence programme, an initiative of 25hours Hotels that invites artists to stay at their properties around the world to create a piece that becomes a permanent part of the hotel’s collection.
Having exhibited his work at the 2024 edition of WAD, Lanier will transform the hotel’s artist studio into a hub of creativity, culminating in the creation of an artwork that will be displayed above the Nomad Day Bar in the lobby.
Titled Where to Next? the artwork represents the essence of life’s journey, capturing the spirit of a nomadic family who live by travelling and exploring the world. Embodying the philosophy of the property, “We are all nomads here”, the family’s journey symbolises the challenges, detours, and opportunities that life presents, enriched by memories, connections and experiences that are made along the way.
The artwork which will be revealed on September 12, is the latest artistic initiative at 25hours Hotel One Central as it strives to provide artists with a platform to explore, create and inspire, contributing to the city’s growth as an exciting hub for artistic expression.
