Vintage-style train journeys are firmly back in vogue. One of the most anticipated launches is the Orient Express La Dolce Vita – a partnership between French hotel group Accor and the Italian luxury hospitality group Arsenale S.P.A. The train’s name, La Dolce Vita, (“The Sweet Life”) is an ode to the decadent 1960’s Italian era which celebrated an indulgent approach to living. Inspired by Italian design masters such as Giò Ponti and Nanda Vigo, architecture and design studio Dimorestudio has designed the train’s two deluxe cabins, 18 suites, “La Dolce Vita” Suite, restaurant, lounge and bar.

A refined ambience is palpable throughout the cabins, which feature plush carpeted floors, wood-beamed ceilings and private bathrooms, offering room service around the clock. For a more social dining experience, the dining car with its geometric designs, glossy lacquered walls and ambient lighting is an inviting, convivial space. Nine recently released itineraries will — depending on the season — take guests from experiences across the north to the south of Italy, from picturesque mountains to the sun-drenched coastline, with exclusive cultural and gastronomic experiences along the way. Cabins are now available for bookings for journeys starting Spring 2025.
