You can now add a massive sugar rush to your London itinerary, thanks to a luxurious new dessert restaurant at Café Royal’s iconic The Café on Regent Street. The menus have been designed by exec pastry chef Sarah Barber and feature a range of tasting menus with optional wine pairings from 6pm to 10.30pm each day, starting from GBP26 per person.
For example, the Sarah in Wonderland menu features five courses,
starting with savouries such as the Milky Way, with goat’s cheese, wild
honey and beetroot snow; and Chicken Foie with quince and brioche. The
Alice in Wonderland-inspired desserts include the Queen of Hearts
(raspberries, Champagne and roses); Mad Hatter (BFG, kirsch and
cherries) and Eat Me, Drink Me (Snickers, chocolate malt shake).


The three-course Childhood Memories menus will also be available, composed of nostalgic treats like rhubarb & custard and Jaffa Cakes. Then the Pick n Mix menu will allow guests to make their selection of four dishes, with savouries such as White Rabbit with Acapella cheese, artichokes and black truffle; and Salmon Tart with silky avocado. Desserts on the Pick n Mix menu include the Jaffa Cake; Eat Me, Drink Me and Queen of Hearts.
Wine flights include sparkling Prosecco di Valdobbiadene with the Milky Way; Henriques y Henriques madeira with the Jaffa Cake; and classic dessert wines such as Château Roumieu, Sauternes with the Eat Me, Drink Me. The pâtisserie will also offer petit gâteau such as pistachio & apricot mille feuille; Strawberry lemon candy cane; raspberry rose sphere; and large entremets; strawberry crispy mousse with almond sponge and lemon curd and Black Forest gateau with chocolate mushrooms, to name a few.
