Recent peace agreements between the UAE and Israel have opened up a new world of inter-country exploration, for tourists to longer-stay travellers. If you’re unsure of where to stay, however, Port Tel Aviv - a new five-star property popping up on Tel Aviv’s waterfront - should assist nicely when it opens autumn 2022.

With ground already broken by Hagag Group - Israel’s leading residential developer - construction for the five-star hotel and luxury residence is well under way, adding another string to the city’s blossoming hospitality bow.
Designed by Israeli starchitect Ilan Pivko, a man who has had a huge impact on the regeneration of the Tel Aviv since the 1980s, the modernist, Cubist-Art inspired 10-storey building is just a stone’s throw from the Mediterranean (50 meters to be precise) and will be home to 40 exclusive apartments, with two floors dedicated to a five-star hotel.

In the Residence, the one- to four-bedroom apartments will secure space on the top seven floors of Port Tel Aviv, with two mini-penthouses and their private pools, and two exclusive five-bedroom penthouses. The latter ninth-floor duplexes, each feature a spectacular triple reception, kitchen-cum-breakfast room, dining room seating 10 people, a master bedroom and a series of additional VIP rooms and suites. The piece de resistance, however, is the outside spiral staircase that leads up to the 10th level, where guests can happily squander away their day on the large rooftop deck or languishing in their private pool.

And then, for boutique or art-house hotel lovers, the first two floors the building will cater to their requirements uniquely, with all spaces designed to maximize the Mediterranean light and sea breeze, the floor-to-ceiling windows drinking in the stunning view. Vast lounge areas play out against terraced decks, an uber-cool restaurant and cocktail bar spanning the entire depth of the building, another lounge/cocktail bar, cinema, conference centre, gym and VIP private dining rooms.

For all who bed down at Port Tel Aviv, naturally there’s all the trimmings one might need for overnight or a longer-term stay, with a tailor-made concierge service, 24-hour room service, express laundry, baggage unpacking, personalized fitness programs at the gym, private yacht tours, a private chef, helicopter rides, beauty treatments and an ever-changing collection of artworks and exclusive pieces by contemporary Israeli artists… you get the picture.

Location-wise, you won’t get a much better positioning than Port Tel Aviv, plumped in the centre of Namal Port District, in the beautiful Old North neighbourhood. One of Tel Aviv’s most dynamic areas, you’ll be close to the beaches, parks, farmer’s markets, boutiques, restaurants and the city’s world-renowned nightlife.

While Port Tel Aviv’s hotel partner is yet to be announced, prices for the private apartments start from US $2,000,000 for an 829 square-foot apartment, up to US $10,000,000 for those with deep pockets and a penchant for penthouses.
