The modern cities of the Arabian Peninsula are known for their landmark buildings, from the iconic outlines of Burj al Arab and Burj Khalifa in Dubai to the soaring Kingdom Centre in Saudi Arabia. The Gulf state of Qatar is working on its own standout building in the quickly emerging city of Lusail, a modern enclave on the outskirts of Doha that will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup. At its core is the Lusail Marina District, a lifestyle hub packed with high-end residences, marinas, retail and entertainment as well as a pair of world-class hotels situated in its anchor feature, Katara Towers.
Two of the world’s most well-established luxury brands – Fairmont and Raffles – will come together in this striking building: an architectural marvel of two arched towers that represent a pair of crossed scimitar swords, emblematic of Qatar’s national symbol.
When complete in 2022, the building will be home to the 361-room Fairmont Hotel in one tower, and a super-exclusive 132-suite Raffles Hotel & Residences in the other, with 49 branded residences. Additionally, the project will boast signature restaurants and a cigar lounge, VIP movie theatres, a range of entertainment and dining outlets and dedicated office space.

The project is being developed by Katara Hospitality, a hotel owner, developer and operator with a growing global portfolio of 42 owned and/or managed hotels. Other Accor partnerships within the portfolio include The Plaza Hotel in New York, Raffles Singapore, Le Royal Monceau Raffles in Paris and The Savoy in London.
