Ever thought about a safari holiday in Africa? If you’re based in Abu Dhabi, Kenya should be on your radar, as Etihad Airways has announced it will relaunch its service to Nairobi.
Set to take off on May 1 in 2024, the non-stop route will be operated on a daily basis and shuttle passengers between the two capital cities.

Flights will depart the UAE capital from 9.05am and reach Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 1.15pm local time. The return leg from East Africa will leave at 6.10pm and arrive back in Abu Dhabi International Airport at 12.20am.
“We are thrilled to be re-starting flights to Nairobi, a dynamic and exciting city in itself and also the gateway to a Kenyan safari, a dream adventure for many travellers, offering a view of the diverse and magnificent wildlife of Africa,” says Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways.
UAE travellers can expect incredible wildlife-spotting opportunities, including Kenya’s world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve where the ‘Big Five’ of African elephants, rhinoceros, Cape buffalo, leopards and lions reside.
For those from Kenya, the new route will enable them to experience the likes of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Louvre Abu Dhabi, natural mangroves and more in the UAE capital.
