Following the launch of Etihad’s super-luxe suite, “The Residence”, a consultative flight search platform has ranked its top 24 first class cabins.
Flightfox produced the list according to ‘seat comfort’, ‘food & wine’, ‘rockstar factor’ and ‘hackability’, which roughly translates as the ease of finding a good deal. The website has also indexed the best price points typically on offer.
Singapore Airlines came out on top with its Singapore Suites, which features on its A380 aircraft, despite the lack of limo transfer, on-board bar and private chef. The best price totalled US $3,324 on the Singapore to Mumbai route. The airline also appears in tenth place with its regular First Class option.
Cathay Pacific First Class Suites came runner up, with a significantly cheaper price point of $713, offering Krug Grand Cuvée instead of Singapore’s 2004 Dom Perignon.
Emirates Airline secured the last podium position with its A380 First Class Suites, which do include a limousine and on-board bar, as well as complimentary pyjamas.
The most expensive first class flight, according to the “best price” metric, comes via Japan’s ANA First Square, which costs $9,640 between Tokyo and LA.
