DAMAC is vowing to wow with AKOYA by DAMAC. The 42 million square feet residential area, which will feature The Trump International Golf Course, Dubai and 104 exclusive Trump Estates villas and mansions.
Donald Trump landed his private Boeing 757 in Dubai today to announce further details of the Trump Estate, and answer questions on he believes will be the best golf courses in the Middle East and one of “the great courses of the world”.
“I don’t want courses that aren’t great,” Trump told reporters. “If they can’t be the best then I’m not interested – and this fits that mould.”
“I’m not saying we’re going to bring the Ryder Cup to Dubai… but there is a good chance. The course is designed to the highest standards of golf. It’s as good as it gets in terms of shot making and everything else.”
“So we do have a good chance of bringing the Ryder Cup since there’s a good chance, in my opinion, they’ll bring it to this region in the not too distant future. And we will have the best course by far.”
Several years after Trump scrapped the desert skyscraper that would bear his name, he returned to reveal new images of the Trump Golf Clubhouse building.
The curved ‘Grand Arrival’ area is set beyond the building’s central void, which will allow visitors a view of the course. The clubhouse contains a lobby lounge, pro shop, two restaurants and a spa. The interior design will take a cue from grand old American country clubs.
“It is an inspiring masterpiece and a new landmark in the making within Dubai’s developed architectural scenery. The form and functionality of the building really is a wonderful piece of art,” explained Trump.
The course has been designed by world-renowned architect Gil Hanse and will be fully grassed by early 2015.
