Translating into English as “Masterpiece”, the Meisterstück fountain pen debuted 90 years ago. Montblanc made sure the item with an intimate reception at Guastavino's in New York City featuring celebrity guests, including actors Edward Norton, Rosario Dawson and Anthony Mackie.
The event also saw the unveiling of the Meisterstück 90th Anniversary Collection, which features four new writing instruments: the 149 Fountain Pen, the Classique and LeGrand Fountain pens and a Rollerball and Ballpoint, each artfully crafted with red gold fittings.
A Skeleton Fountain Pen also celebrates this anniversary, paying homage to the first Skeleton Pen created in 1999 for the Meisterstuck 75th anniversary, the pen comes with delicately skeletonised, ruthenium-plated cap and barrel, topped by a quartz Montblanc emblem.
The Meisterstück Heritage Collection also includes four new timepieces, which are inspired by the nonagenarian fountain pen. The collection is now available for sale in Montblanc boutiques worldwide and prices range from US $2,490 for an Automatic, to $34,500 for a Pulsograph. Other jewellery and accessories feature in the collection, such as cufflinks and leather goods.
