You might not be ready to pounce on colossal waves from the back of a helicopter, but at least you can look the part wearing Laird Apparel. Renaissance man, Adonis and surf pioneer Laird Hamilton has been busy posing in his new “athleisure” clothing, extending his business portfolio from fitness equipment, SUP paddle equipment, nutritional supplements and branded exercise programs.
If you’re not familiar with Hamilton, the 6’3” athlete considered the primary influence behind many surfing innovations, including tow-in surfing, stand-up paddle boarding and hydrofoil boarding. Surfer Magazine refers to him as “the sport’s most complete surfer” and he now has a namesake apparel line.

“I wanted to create a line for the discerning man, which would withstand functional demands with a contemporary and multi-functional edge,” said Hamilton. "I wanted to provide my contemporaries with durable, stylish yet masculine clothing that feels unique to the activity he is exploring. It is difficult to find clothing that provides the technical fabrics and tailored construction that is required to achieve this hybrid emphasised by function first."

The products fall within three collections; Off Shore, Fitness and Lifestyle, with price points ranging from $30–$120 and colours themed from both land and sea, including tank tops, board shorts, workout shorts, and hybrid rash guards that can double as polo shirts. The line debuted at One&Only Palmilla in Los Cabos, Mexico, last month and will appear at other One&Only Resorts later this year.
