I enjoy having brunch at the New Hotel, near Syntagma Square. It’s restaurant, New Taste, has a great atmosphere and a very interesting menu to choose from. Dishes are made from local organic ingredients, and the breads and pastries are baked daily.

2. Coffee break
The best coffee place in Athens is Tailor Made micro-roastery and cocktail bar. The guys over there have a real passion for what they do; they actually roast raw coffee beans themselves, always providing the freshest and top quality brews. They actually supply our restaurant Funky Gourmet with a specialty filter coffee, Geisha Lycello from Panama.

3. Lunch
I like to go to PBOX Eatery in Kifissia, a northern suburb of Athens. The chef there offers a fusion cuisine inspired by Asia and Greece of course. I love odering the raw salmon dish from Crete, though the chef has a repertoire of many other delicacies as well.

4. Snack stop
Pandesia in Agia Paraskevi is a gourmet grocery run by Giannis and his wife Teti. They will be happy to guide you through their range of unique products from all over Greece, which you can buy to take home with you or sample on site accompanied by a glass of ouzo or Tsipouro (pomace brandy).

5. Dinner
Of course you must visit Funky Gourmet. One of our signature dishes is the Greek salad, which is presented on a slab of white granite. Another signature dish is the Coulouri bread, a typical Salonica bread that we make in-house and we serve with a fresh local beer from Chios island. It’s a wonderful drink pairing where the yeast of the bread is perfectly matched with the yeast from the beer.

6. Drinks
I love Kolokotroni 9 Bar in the heart of Athens. Bartender and owner Spiros presents wonderfully crafted and delicious cocktails. I really enjoy having a drink or two there.
