Paris, Venice or Istanbul? Belmond’s Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train is launching three lavish new suites in March 2018 and travellers on the rail journey can choose to stay in accommodation themed after their favourite of the trio. Each of the Grand Suites includes a private bathroom with shower, a living area and double bed, with prices starting from a cool £5,500 (US$7,390) per person for a one-night journey from London to Venice. 

For that price, the experience is nothing short of remarkable with complimentary designer bathrobes, free-flowing in-suite champagne, preferential treatment in the dining car and bespoke amenities. The Grand Suites vaunt historical Art Deco design with touches such as silks and glass lamps in the Venice suite; hand-carved timber and embroidered rugs in the Istanbul suite; and haute-couture flourishes in the Paris suite.
