The city’s best-kept secret is finally out – Eden, a bucolic paradise on the terrace of Belcanto at The Dubai Opera. The new-to-the-scene fine-dining restaurant has opened up its doors to Eden, a multisensorial, hidden slice of ‘disco paradise’, where willowy foliage tumbles from hanging baskets, palm fronds fringe wooden decking, and wicker ‘peacock’ chairs provide a natural palette to wilder animal-print soft furnishings. The real brownie point though, is the phenomenal view of Burj Khalifa, the statuesque tower rising as if from the open rooftop.
As an extenuation of Belcanto, but juxtaposed to what lies inside, this al fresco hotspot takes over where the restaurant leaves off (Belcanto closes at midnight, while Eden closes at 3am), with an eclectic line-up of local and international entertainment acts, bringing in a euphoric jungle dripping in edginess and electronic music. Bar mastermind and five-time World’s 50 Best Bars award-winner, Mikhail Melnik, has designed the drinks menu, with signature cocktails inspired from paradisiacal beings.
An LED screen wraps around the terrace, playing psychedelic imagery, keeping energy levels at an all-time high long into the night – or should we say early morning?
