To celebrate the Flower Carpet event which takes place every other August at Brussels’ La Grand Place, where a kaleidoscopic array of begonias is woven into an intricate Japanese-inspired tapestry, honouring the long friendship between Belgium and the Land of the Rising Sun, Hotel Amigo, a Rocco Forte hotel, has introduced a limited-edition floral-inspired cocktail menu at Bar Magritte. Just moments away from the Grand Place, newly opened Bar Magritte – the world’s first bar dedicated to Belgian Surrealist René Magritte – is paying homage to the bi-annual event through an array of seasonal ingredients.

Stars of the show include the sparkling La Vie en Rose, a blushing nod to the romance of a rose garden created from champagne, hibiscus-infused vodka, vine peach liqueur, lemon juice and rose syrup. For those that prefer their drinks with a sour hit, the Purple Haze is sure to dazzle. Delicately sweet with a hint of sourness and a medley of hues inspired by Japan’s ephemeral sakura blossom, the flamboyant concoction is crafted from Roku gin, elderflower liqueur, butterfly pea tea, lime juice and passion syrup to hit all of the high notes. Available until the end of August.
