A tribute to the hotel’s avant-garde design, and its sweeping steel and 5,096 diamond-shaped glass panels outside,  the Living Room is also inspired by the heritage and physical aspects of Abu Dhabi: the striking columns represent fossil dunes created by nature; the undulating ‘veil’ sofa depicts the curves and flow of the hijab; the welcome desk ‘oil drops’ represent the prosperity oil has brought to the UAE capital; and the ‘peg wall’ nods to the history of pearl diving in the emirate, the pegs replicas of the turtle-shell nose pegs originally used by pearl divers.
