The hustle and bustle of Chorsu Bazaar; the serenity and beauty of the Minor Mosque; and the dazzling colours of Kukeldash Madrasah; it’s easy to see why Uzbekistan has sneaked its way onto travellers’ must visit lists in the past two years and if you are a Doha resident, you will be able to hop onto a direct flight to the Central Asia country very soon thanks to a new Qatar Airways service.
Set to take to the skies on June 2, 2024, passengers will be able to take advantage of four weekly flights between Doha and the Uzbek capital, becoming the second Central Asian city to be served by the airline after Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The service will see flights depart Hamad International Airport in the Qatari capital on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 7.50pm and arrive in Tashkent at 1.20am (local time) the following day.
Return flights will leave Tashkent International Airport on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 3.20am and land in Doha at 5.20am.
The flight route will be in operation until the end of the season on October 25, 2024.

“Tashkent provides our passengers travelling from Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas, with the opportunity to visit Uzbekistan and the Central Asian region, and explore the cultural wonders these destinations offer,” says Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Thierry Antinori. “Travellers flying with Qatar Airways can now avail the option to fly to Tashkent as their gateway to the region, and we look forward to future opportunities of growth in Central Asia.”
The news of the Doha/Tashkent route is the latest announcement from Qatar Airways who have launched direct flights to Hamburg (Germany), AlUla, (Saudi Arabia) and Ras Al Khaimah (UAE) in recent months.
