Available on Etihad.com, the travel map - created in partnership with Sitata, a Canadian travel risk management company - uses advanced computer algorithms to detect new travel information globally, which is quickly updated on the portal, allowing guests easy access to a comprehensive overview of the Covid-19 situation at each destination in the Etihad’s network, and enabling them to make more informed travel decisions.
Tuning into announcements and updates on official government websites and reputable news channels, the information is vetted by Sitata’s team before being continuously updated on etihad.com as and when new information is available.
“With travel restrictions beginning to ease in many destinations, we are keen to provide our guests with current information on Covid-19 related guidelines from the countries they plan to travel to,” says Frank Meyer, Chief Digital Officer at Etihad Aviation Group. “The current situation is still very volatile and dynamic, and with new guidelines being implement on a daily basis - and sometimes even more frequently - it is important for us as an airline to support our guests with as much information as possible.”
Log onto Etihad.com, find the map under the ‘guidelines’ section, and you’ll have immediate, up-to-date access to information including border restrictions, curfew timings, mandatory precautionary measures, quarantine rules, airport and flight operations, and the number of current active Covid-19 case in each destination.
