The era of luxury cycling has rolled into town as British titans of the motor vehicle and bicycle worlds, Aston Martin and J Laverack, have partnered to create the first ‘visually boltless’ bike: the .1R.
The bike, which will make its public debut at Rouleur Live in London on November 2, has almost no externally visible bolts, hoses or cables. Other innovative designs include aluminum disc brake callipers that are coated in heat-resistant ceramic coating and come with four pistons instead of the usual two, as well as a frame combination of Ti 6Al/4V titanium and carbon fibre that provides perfect balance and stability no matter the terrain.
Even the AERA Components Æ|55 wheels are also unique to the .1R, featuring 55mm deep carbon tubeless rims with an internal width of 22mm and handlebars are covered with Alcantara or leather.
“The J.Laverack Aston Martin .1R is essentially a titanium hypercar on two wheels,” says Marek Reichman, Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer at Aston Martin.

“The simple, clever genius is how we’ve fused the engineering advancements throughout the bike with a purity of performance design to deliver a viscerally exhilarating riding experience. The result is a distinctive form, born through tradition and technology and handcrafted using only the most advanced materials, befitting the pedigrees and forward-thinking natures of our two iconic British companies.”

Cyclists who can’t wait to take the .1R for a road-test can enjoy a full fitting at Aston Martin’s headquarters in Gaydon, England, with the assistance of J Laverack’s experts, selecting their preferred colour of the tubes, lugs, forks, stem, seat post and handlebar drops via an online configurator. Customers will be able to choose from any of the three 12-speed groupsets – Shimano Dura-Ace Di2, Campagnolo Super Record Wireless or SRAM RED eTap AXS – that are used by the professionals on the UCI Tour, as well as have their saddle trimmed in their choice of leather or Alcantara and finished with a single titanium rivet.

The Aston Martin J Laverck .1R will be on display for three days at Rouler Live.
