VILLERET QUANTIÈME PHASES DE LUNE
For years, the verdant, undulating hills of Vallée de Joux have attracted travellers in search of Switzerland’s natural beauty. Bestowed with ample rugged and unspoiled countryside that nestles between the imposing Jura Mountain Ranges, it is easy to see why. Yet the beautiful, rolling valley’s biggest claim to fame does not come from its picture-postcard aesthetics, but its legendary reputation for watchmaking. Considered by many as the birthplace of Swiss horology, the area still boasts the workshops of the world’s most beloved watch brands including Blancpain.
Paying homage to Vallée de Joux’s lush fir trees that surround its factory in the village of Le Brassus, Blancpain showcases the Villeret Collection, a selection of timepieces that sport the watchmaker’s instantly recognisable sunburst green dial as well as Blancpain’s native village’s name. Rooted in tradition yet looking firmly to the future, Blancpain marries timeless elegance and an eminently technical nature in four classic models that are sure to impress.
VILLERET EXTRAPLATE
Restrained yet effective, the Villeret Extraplate exudes understated elegance. Enjoying a pared-down design with focus placed on the essential time indications and the new addition of the date, this self-winding timepiece spotlights the DNA of the collection: minimalist appearances and complex inner workings. Powered by the uber-thin calibre 1151 that measures only 3.37mm, the Villeret Extraplate comes with a 40mm, 18-carat red gold case and a four-day power reserve.
VILLERET QUANTIÈME PHASES DE LUNE
Adorned with Blancpain’s signature famous moon phase display, this timepiece is as gorgeous as it is technical. Featuring a secure 913QL.P self-winding movement in a 33.20mm, 18-carat red gold case, this lady’s watch showcases a moon with a beauty spot at the corner of its mouth, along with closed eyelids framed by long eyelashes. In a further nod to the starry night sky, the dial and case are graced by almost one carat worth of diamonds. The new green dial and a green leather strap completes the look.
VILLERET QUANTIÈME COMPLET
Blending a complete calendar with a moon-phase display, this timepiece is a true work of art. Emphasis on the model’s design is all about visual balance with the date, day of the week, month and two dedicated apertures all accommodated on the dial. Even the subtle shades of green on the dial and the red-gold hands and hour-markers make the display easier to read. In order for the mechanism to operate, the Calibre 6654 has been secured, allowing the wearer to adjust the calendar indications by simply pressing Blancpain’s signature under-lug correctors.
VILLERET TOURBILLON CARROUSEL
Heralded as one of horology’s great achievements when it was revealed back in 2013, Villeret Tourbillon Carrousel returns to woo watch lovers once again. Featuring a 44.6mm, 18carat red case, the model enjoys all the classic technical specs of its 2013 counterpart including a flying tourbillon at 12 o’clock and a flying carousel at 6 o’clock, along with a date display at 3 o’clock. There’s also a seven-day power reserve, indicated by a display visible through the sapphire crystal case back.
