The gleaming, curvilinear exterior of Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab is a sight to behold. Extending 470 metres into the glistening Arabian Gulf, the superyacht-inspired property is the third and final piece of Jumeirah’s stunning nautical triptych that inhabits the prime real estate of Jumeirah Road. The wave-shaped resort of Jumeirah Beach Hotel came first in the late 1990s. Then it was Jumeirah Burj Al Arab, the hotel whose sail shape has become the symbol of Dubai. Now it’s Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab’s turn and less than a month after its grand opening, the lustrous property is turning heads, and it’s easy to see why.
AN ARCHITECTURAL MASTERPIECE
Imagined by Shaun Killa, the architect involved in the creation of the Jumeirah Burj Al Arab as well as Dubai’s Museum of the Future, the ultra-luxury resort’s design is crafted to create a sense of discovery. Taking the form of a futuristic superyacht, the property is a sleek, organic looking structure that is the jewel in the crown of a new luxury lifestyle district that is also home to D-Marin Marsa Al Arab Marina, which boasts 82 yachting berths. Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a grand arch entrance that leads the way to a lobby that dazzles with a descending chandelier of more than 1,500 hand-blown crystals, plucked from Czechia’s renowned crystal valley. There are also more than 300 curated artworks and 29 bespoke sculptures for guests to cast their eyes upon, adding an artistic flair throughout the entire resort.
The property is home to 300 luxuriously appointed rooms and 86 beautiful suites. Exuding 60’s glamour, the rooms draw inspiration from Italy’s famed Riva boats, boasting stylish and expansive balconies that provide the perfect vantage point to soak in stunning sea views. In the suites, guests will discover vibrant interiors that feature bold, sporty lines alongside exclusive offerings such as access to Iliana Pool Club and a dedicated butler service that is on call to service your every want and need. For an elevated experience, there is the stunning Presidential Suite or the Royal Suite, which showcases a layout that is all about indoor-outdoor living, with a 310-square-metre terrace and a plunge pool. The Pearl Suite is refined elegance at its best and welcomes guests into a space that can host special events for up to 80 guests and includes a private kitchen and a sublime wrap-around terrace that yields incredible views of Dubai.
For those wishing to stay longer, Jumeirah Residences Marsa Al Arab offers 82 one- to three-bedroom homes. Ranging from 79 to 229 square metres, the residences come with terraces and breathtaking panoramas of the marina, ocean or Jumeirah Burj Al Arab, as well access to a private pool, gym and spa facilities.
A GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE
Naturally, the property continues Jumeirah’s outstanding reputation for delivering memorable dining experiences with a selection of 11 world-class restaurants and four destination bars. The Fore is a first for Dubai, espousing a transformative dining concept where four different venues transform into a unified breakfast experience. Standout restaurants in the hotel’s repertoire include The Bombay Club, where gastronomes are taken on a culinary journey of India by Michelin-starred chef, Manav Tuli, while in Iliana, Greek Mediterranean favourites are served up with beach club vibes. Those who delight in Japanese cuisine should check out Umi Kei, which is inspired by the art of kintsugi (golden joinery); Kinugawa, which marries Japanese precision with French elegance; and Kira, where Japanese culinary skill fuses with Mediterranean flavours. Then there’s Madame Li, a bold and Asian fusion venue that draws inspiration from the hand-written recipes of the well-travelled adventurer.
The Commodore Club is a must-visit for those with cravings for classic comfort foods. With bright, welcoming interiors that create a home-like ambience, the restaurant should be on the radar of gourmands who love a late breakfast or brunch. Carnivores can satisfy their needs at the elegant steakhouse, The Cullinan. Dishing out premium meat and seafood selections, there are picture perfect views of the marina as well as an open kitchen where the culinary team showcase their skills. Should the temptation of northern Italian classics be too irresistible, pull up a chair at Rialto, a charming 1950s-style establishment that is ideal for an aperitif or sophisticated after-dinner nightcap. Or, you can raise a glass under the ethereal glow of the moon at LITT Bar Club.
LEISURELY PURSUITS
As with any Jumeirah property, the hotel is packed with wellness and leisure experiences to enjoy. At the top of the list is Talise Spa, Jumeirah’s signature wellness concept, with its 13 gorgeous treatment suites that boast a private terrace with dreamy vistas of the sparkling Arabian Gulf. Sprawling over three floors, guests can discover cutting edge treatments like cryotherapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and an iDome detox experience to realign mind and body, while exclusive skincare partnerships with EviDenS de Beauté and Swissline add to the opulence of the experience. Feeling refreshed, guests are invited to make use of a 20-metre indoor pool, a fully equipped fitness studio and gym to complete the journey to rejuvenation.
Sun worshippers can take their pick from four outdoor pools when they wish to soak up the Dubai sun, or enjoy a stroll along the property’s private beach. Little ones also receive the VIP treatment with the Family Club at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab. Open daily from 10am to 7pm, children between the ages of three and 10 are entertained with a plethora of engaging activities and interactive experiences, designed to foster creativity and learning. Mum and dad can also get in on the fun with Jumeirah Circle, a new ‘edutainment’ programme.
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
Found at the crossroads of old and new Dubai, the property is situated in a superb location for travellers looking to explore Dubai’s most famous landmarks like the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. Nestled into the epicentre of Marsa Al Arab Marina, guests won’t have to go too far to discover a dynamic social hub. Here, where superyachts are docked, is a thriving community of homegrown dining concepts, exclusive retail stores and stylish boutiques. And of course, the hotel’s sister properties of Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Jumeirah Burj Al Arab are only a short drive away, should guests wish to immerse themselves totally in the world of Jumeirah.
