Belmond’s latest rail journey is on track—pun intended. The Britannic Explorer will launch in July 2025 with a new offering in British luxury travel: the first onboard spa on a train operating in England and Wales. The train’s Wellness Suite is developed in partnership with Wildsmith, a British wellbeing brand known for botanical-led skincare and treatments.

The spa will be housed in one of the train’s 10 carriages and offer a menu of five signature treatments designed to align with circadian rhythsm. Each treatment uses locally sourced botanicals including calendula, chamomile and rose, with products made at Wildsmith’s biodynamic farm at Heckfield Place. The offerings range from morning energisers to evening rituals, along with facials, deep-tissue massages and treatments for expectant travellers.

Wellbeing will extend beyond the train with curated offboard experiences on each itinerary. These include coastal yoga and fire ceremonies in Cornwall, wild swimming in the Lake District and lavender farm visits in Wales.
The Britannic Explorer will operate three-night itineraries through England and Wales, with departures from London. In addition to the new spa, the train features 18 suites designed by Albion Nord, two dining cars offering menus by Michelin-starred chef Simon Rogan and a botanically inspired bar.

Prices start from GBP 11,000 (US $14,230) per double cabin, including all meals, drinks, excursions and spa access.
