No luxury retreat is complete without an indulgent spa experience and at Calm Spa is where I melt away my stress. Elegant and contemporary, this sanctuary that overlooks the beach and sea, tempts guests to restore body and mind with a selection of treatments. There are soothing massages and rejuvenating facials to assist with your journey to contentment. I elect for the 60 Minutes Stress Release Massage—always impossible to resist—and I am left feeling lighter than a cloud at the end. Having nourished the soul, it is time to seek gourmet delights.
For those craving a refined culinary experience, White Orchid Restaurant & Lounge offers a journey into the heart of Asian-inspired cuisine. Embracing the art of balance and freshness, the venue presents guests with a menu packed with the region’s favourite dishes like chargrilled chicken satay and the grilled seabass served in a banana leaf, which is flaky and delicious. However, the star of the show was the green prawn curry; bursting with flavour and utterly moreish. The intimate ambience of White Orchid Restaurant & Lounge is equally as impressive as its food. Set against the backdrop of lush greenery and offering views of the tranquil waters, the restaurant’s stylish interior combines modern sophistication with subtle hints of Asian design.
The property enjoys two breakfast outlets from which to choose. La Fontana Brasserie, the property’s buffet outlet, serves up omelette and crepe stations alongside a wide selection of culinary delights like charcuterie meats and sweet treats. Our second option, Tamr Terrace, is a secluded and intimate venue with food and coffee offerings served from a stylish food truck.
Surrounded by greenery, a water feature sets the tone to the experience, with a gentle tricking stream merging with the sounds of a singing bird for the perfect morning soundtrack. Pancakes Arugula with fried egg, roasted pumpkin and crushed feta, drizzled with a light BBQ sauce alongside a fresh fruit salad makes for a wonderful start to my day.
Emphasis at JA Palm Tree Court is very much on relaxation, however, should you wish to introduce more excitement into your stay, the property offers more than 40 experiences from which to choose. There’s the JA Equestrian Centre, where you can experience a horse ride, enjoy a round of golf at the hotel’s sister property, JA Lake View Hotel or test your aim at the JA Shooting Club. As for me, I decide to appreciate the nature that surrounds me, gazing upon the peacocks that strut their stuff around the grounds.
As far as city escapes in Dubai go, JA Palm Tree Court is as good as they come. The resort is sure to immerse you in stress-free vibes away from the modern world and leaves you fully rested upon check-out. It’s time to leave but I will be back, even if it’s just to hear that sea roll in.
